これ/それ/あれ
これ, それ ,あれ are demonstratives and work as nouns.
これ refers to something near the speaker.
それ refers to something near the listener.
あれ refers to something distant from both the speaker and the listener.
Example;
- これはなんですか
- Kore wa nan desu ka
- what is this?
- それはなんですか
- Sore wa nan desu ka
- what is that?
- あれはなんですか
- are wa nan desu ka
- what is that? (but the condition terms is the topic was distant from both the speaker and listener)
